Learn about Sikhism and the Sikh community in Canada by joining a local community for kirtan (songs and prayers) and langar (community meal).Ìý We'll have time to discuss and learn from Juss Kaur, MORSL’s Sikh faith volunteer leader in our Multifaith Network. Open to all current 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓÆµ students in any program or level of study.Ìý

Starting Location:

This is a joint event with Concordia's Multi-faith and Spirituality Centre, and we will meet at EV Atrium (at Concordia. See theirÌýÌýThis is close to Guy-Concordia metro station). We'll travel together to the Gurudwara by metro or bus.

Accessibility:

The gurudwara is accessible by stairs (internal and covered external stairs).Ìý Langar is a communal vegetarian meal; you will be able to ask for details about ingredients, and can refrain from eating any components of the meal that do not meet your dietary needs. Dress code, etiquette, and what to know before you leave home:Ìý

Please dress modestly and neatly (e.g. business casual).Ìý You will need to remove your shoes when entering the building and store them in the cloakroom.Ìý Generally, people sit on the floor in the prayer space, so please ensure you are able to do so comfortably in your clothing (there are seats available for those with mobility needs).Ìý All people are asked to cover their heads with a scarf, bandana or other head covering (no hats). Please note that men and women sit separately in the prayer space. In the prayer space, please maintain an attitude of respect: be quiet and silence phones.
