Join MORSL for a trip to a mosque and community centre, the . The experience will start with an introduction to Islam and Muslims in Canada. We’ll then learn about how prayer works in Islam and witness community prayer.Ìý We’ll also hold a Q&A with a community leader.

Meeting time and place:

We’ll meet at the Canadian Institute for Islamic Civilization at 615 rue Belmont, Montreal, QC, H3B 2L8 at 2:45 PM.Ìý The mosque is at the corner of Belmont at Union, just south of René-Levesque. The closest metro stations are Square Victoria-OACI and 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓÆµ.Ìý

Dress code and etiquette:

Both men and women should dress modestly, wearing loose-fitting, long-sleeved, and comfortable clothes. This generally involves covering the arms and legs—no shorts or sleeveless shirts—and opting for ankle-length skirts or trousers. Avoid wearing revealing or transparent clothing, as well as attire that is excessively tight. Women are advised to cover their hair when entering a mosque; please bring a scarf for this.

Participants will need to remove shoes before entering the prayer room; please note that men and women use separate spaces.Ìý In the prayer room, please maintain an attitude of respect: be quiet and silence cellphones.
