Biography: 

Dr. Sarkis H. Meterissian is a Professor of Surgery and Oncology at 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓÆµ and the Director of the Breast Center of the 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓÆµ Health Centre (MUHC). Based at the Royal Victoria Hospital at the MUHC Glen site, Dr. Meterissian specializes in the management of breast cancer and melanoma.

Current research: 

Dr. Meterissian's current research focuses on advancing breast cancer care, with projects including: 

  • Assessing tumor margins using Raman spectroscopy in collaboration with the Université de Montréal (NSERC grant-funded). 

  • Evaluating the impact of life coaching on life adjustment in breast cancer survivors (Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation-funded). 

  • Investigating the molecular biology of ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) (Cancer Research Society-funded). 

Dr. Meterissian is committed to improving patient outcomes through both innovative research and clinical excellence in oncology.
