About Us

The 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Breast Outcomes Research Group is a dynamic research lab dedicated to advancing the study of breast cancer care through an in-depth exploration of its epidemiology, delivery, and quality. Our mission is to evaluate the impact of breast cancer across the entire care continuum. From individual patients to the healthcare system, we aim to develop practical, patient-centered solutions that improve oncologic outcomes and the overall patient experience.

Founded byÌýDr. Ipshita PrakashÌý²¹²Ô»åÌýDr. Stephanie Wong, and led by Dr. Prakash, our lab brings together a multidisciplinary team committed to impactful, data-driven research. We proudly collaborate with the teams ofÌýDr. Sarkis MeterissianÌý²¹²Ô»åÌýDr. Ari Meguerditchian, creating a rich network across theÌýJewish General Hospital (JGH),Ìý91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Health Centre (MUHC), andÌýSt. Mary’s Hospital. This cross-institutional collaboration provides our team with a unique depth of mentorship, resources, and expertise.

For Prospective Students

Whether you’re a medical student, resident, fellow, or early-career researcher, our lab offers a supportive, hands-on research environment where you can grow your skills and pursue your interests. You’ll have access to:

  • Institutional databases from three major hospitals
  • Population-level provincial datasets
  • Expert guidance in research methodology and statistics (including support from a dedicated biostatistician)
  • Opportunities to co-author abstracts, manuscripts, and conference presentations

We aim to empower our trainees to pursue their own goals, whether that means launching an independent research career, complementing clinical training, or simply discovering the joy of research. And yes, we believe research can be fun, too.

Collaboration is at the core of our missionÌý

Our research thrives on multidisciplinary input and institutional synergy, and we actively seek partnerships with researchers, clinicians, and organizations who share our commitment to advancing breast cancer care through evidence based innovation.

Whether you are exploring a single project or interested in long term collaboration, we are always open to new ideas and shared goals.

Although we are a relatively new lab, our impact has been immediate. In just 2.5 years, we have surpassed our annual goal of submitting 3 to 4 abstracts to major oncology conferences, including theÌýSociety of Surgical Oncology (SSO),ÌýAmerican Society of Breast Surgeons (ASBrS),ÌýAmerican Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO),ÌýEuropean Society of Surgical Oncology (ESSO), and theÌýSan Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium (SABCS). This reflects both our ambition and momentum.

Join usÌýas we work toward a future where breast cancer care is more effective, equitable, and centered on what matters most: the patient.
