Through patient-centered and data-driven research, we seek to understand how breast cancer affects individuals across diverse healthcare systems and to identify actionable solutions that drive meaningful change worldwide.
Our Mission
We investigate the聽epidemiology,听care delivery, and聽system-level performance聽of breast cancer services. By analyzing real-world data from both Canadian and international sources, we aim to identify gaps in care, reduce disparities, and propose solutions that enhance聽patient experience,听clinical effectiveness, and聽long-term outcomes.
Our research spans the full continuum of care鈥攆rom聽early detection to survivorship鈥攚ith a strong focus on聽equity,听access, and聽innovation聽in surgical oncology.
A Global Perspective, Local Impact
While based in Canada鈥檚 publicly funded healthcare system, our research addresses challenges shared across global settings: delayed diagnosis, unequal access to treatment, and variation in quality of care. Who We Are
Founded by聽Dr. Ipshita Prakash听补苍诲听Dr. Stephanie Wong, and currently led by Dr. Prakash, our lab operates within a tri-hospital network that includes the聽Jewish General Hospital, the聽91丝瓜视频 Health Centre (MUHC), and聽St. Mary鈥檚 Hospital. We collaborate closely with the research teams of聽Dr. Sarkis Meterissian听补苍诲听Dr. Ari Meguerditchian, creating a rich, collaborative environment for students, clinicians, and scientists alike.
