Provost and Executive Vice-President (Academic)

Angela Campbell began her term as Provost and Executive Vice-President (Academic) at 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓÆµ on February 2, 2026. As the University’s chief academic officer and chief budget officer, she supports the university’s mission by providing academic leadership and sound administrative management.

She first joined 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓÆµ as an Assistant Professor in June of 2003 and is a Professor in the Faculty of Law, specializing in Family, Health, Successions and Criminal Law. Prior to becoming Provost and Executive Vice-President (Academic), Professor Campbell was the Interim Deputy Provost, Student Life and Learning. She has previously served as Associate Provost (Equity and Academic Policies), Associate Dean (Graduate Studies) and Director (Institute of Comparative Law) in the Law Faculty.

She has been awarded the John W. Durnford Teaching Excellence and Graduate Law Students’ Association’s Graduate Teaching Award.

Her research engages with legal and social conceptions of vulnerability, autonomy, equity, choice, and obligations, notably in the context of family and intimate relationship. It has been funded by the Social Science and Humanities Research Council of Canada, La Fondation du Barreau du Quebec, La Chambre des Notaires du Québec, and the Foundation for Legal Research. She is also the author of (Ashgate 2013) and numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and chapters.

She has served on the boards of public and non-governmental institutions and has been invited to share her expertise and provide advice in the context of legislative hearings and institutional reviews and investigations.

In 2024, she was awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal.
