Marie-Hélène Pennestri

Marie-Hélène Pennestri is Associate Provost (Graduate Education) and Dean of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies (GPS) at 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓÆµ.

Prior to her appointment in 2026, she served as Associate Dean of Research and Graduate Studies in the Faculty of Education and as Director of Clinical Training in the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology. During her mandate, she supported a wide range of research initiatives and promoted the work of researchers at various stages of their career. A psychologist by training, her leadership significantly contributed to the development of two new PsyD programs to address the current shortage of psychologists.

A Canada Research Chair (Tier 2) in Pediatric Sleep and Director of the Once Upon a Night sleep laboratory, she leads a multidisciplinary research program funded by all three federal granting agencies (SSHRC, CIHR and NSERC). She has published in leading academic journals in the fields of sleep and mental health and has presented her work in major international conferences. She is actively involved in her community and in initiatives that facilitate knowledge transfer.
