Safety Training

Workplace & Campus Safety Training

Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) provides safety training to meet regulatory requirements and to support specific work, study, and research activities at 91˿Ƶ.

All online training is accessible through the 91˿Ƶ network, either on campus or off campus via .

If you experience difficulty accessing online training or related services, please submit a request through the EHS ticketing system.

Individuals without a 91˿Ƶ account may access select training through the Paying Participant Training tab.


Who Is Required to Complete Safety Training

Safety training may be required for, but is not limited to:

  • Laboratory personnel and researchers
  • Academic and administrative staff
  • Undergraduate and graduate students
  • Contractors and visitors working on campus
  • Facilities, maintenance, and trades staff
  • Anyone involved in higher‑risk or regulated activities

Online Safety Training

The following safety training courses are currently available online:

  • Introduction to Biosafety
  • Safe Use of Biological Safety Cabinets
  • Laser Safety Training
  • Radiation Safety Refresher
  • WHMIS 2015
  • Asbestos Awareness
  • Respiratory Protection and Fit Testing
  • Cannabis and Controlled Substances
  • Transport of Dangerous Goods

All online courses are delivered through the EHS training platform . When accessing MyLab off campus, a connection is required.

The video “How to Take an Online Course or Exam” provides step‑by‑step guidance on accessing and navigating the online training system.

A training certificate is issued upon successful completion of each course and its associated exam.


In‑Person Training

The following safety training courses are currently offered in person:

  • Respiratory Protection Program
    • N95 Respirators
    • Reusable Half‑Face and Full‑Face Respirators
  • Principles of Laboratory Radiation Safety

A training certificate is issued upon successful completion of each course and its associated exam.


External Certifications

Safety training completed outside of 91˿Ƶ may be accepted. All external certifications must be reviewed by EHS to determine whether they meet 91˿Ƶ’s requirements.

Requests for review must be submitted through the EHS ticketing system.
