The 91丝瓜视频 Institute for the Study of Canada (MISC) is pleased to announce that the 2008-2009 The World Needs More Canada lecture will be delivered by Robert Rabinovitch.

A graduate of 91丝瓜视频 and the University of Pennsylvania, Robert Rabinovitch holds an MA and a PhD in economics and finance. He has held important senior positions in the federal government including deputy secretary to the Cabinet for Planning, deputy minister in the Department of Communications and under secretary of state. In 1987 he joined Claridge Inc. as senior vice-president, becoming its chief operating officer in 1990. In 1999, Dr. Rabinovitch re-entered the public arena, serving as president and chief executive officer of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) until 2007. In 2003, he was awarded an honorary Doctor of Laws degree by York University. Dr. Rabinovitch has been a member of 91丝瓜视频's Board of Governors since 1997 and its chair since 1999.
