The MAA’s Nominating and Governance Committee is responsible for proposing a slate of Directors for election at the Annual General Meeting. In doing so, the Committee aims to ensure the Board reflects diverse perspectives, skills, and experiences that strengthen the Association’s governance and strategic direction. 

The MAA is inviting expressions of interest from eligible members who may wish to be considered for future Board service. 

Why Become an MAA Board Member?

  • Serve as an ambassador for the MAA and strengthen alumni connections.
  • Contribute diverse perspectives, ideas and feedback.
  • Support the MAA’s mission through committee and project involvement.
  • Represent alumni interests in partnership with University Advancement.
  • Build governance experience and expand your alumni leadership network.

Expectations of a Board Member 

  • Attend Board meetings (hybrid) and come prepared to contribute.
  • Commit time for meetings, committee work and occasional events.
  • Uphold respectful governance, confidentiality and MAA/University policies.
  • Support equity, diversity and inclusion in all Board activities.
  • Collaborate effectively with fellow Directors and University partners. 

Above all, candidates should have a genuine commitment to strengthening the global 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓÆµ alumni community and the advancement of 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓÆµ.

The call for interest is issued annually in April and shared with alumni by email. All submissions will be reviewed by the Nominating and Governance Committee. Selected candidates will be contacted for further discussion as part of the Committee’s evaluation process.
