Salary: $11 824/course (including vacation pay).

The Department of Sociology is inviting applications to teach courses in Fall 2026. Please complete the online application form and upload a CV and cover letter. The cover letter should contain the following information:

  • Area examinations completed along with date of completion
  • Previous TA or course lecturer experience for the course(s) for which you are applying

Applications will be ranked according to the collective agreement between 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓÆµ and the MCLIU. Preference will be given to the qualified applicant with the most priority points. 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓÆµ is committed to equity in employment and diversity. SOCI 212 – International Migration
Introduction to social science research on international migration. Covers theories about why people migrate, constraints to migration, and various aspects of immigrant integration. Will explore key theoretical debates of the field and the empirical data and case studies on which these debates hinge.

August 31 – December 4, 2026: Tuesday & Thursday (8:35 – 9:55 am)
Location: Burnside Hall room 1B45

Teaching Qualification Requirements:
Education: Priority will be given to Ph.D. students near the completion of their degree.
Experience: Successful completion of both area exams and/or prior experience as a teaching assistant for SOCI 212

SOCI 235 – Technology and Society
An examination of the extent to which technological developments impose constraints on ways of arranging social relationships in bureaucratic organizations and in the wider society: the compatibility of current social structures with the effective utilization of technology.

August 31 – December 4, 2026: Monday & Wednesday (4:05 – 5:25 pm)
Location: Rutherford Physics 112

Teaching Qualification Requirements:
Education: PhD or be ABD in Sociology
Experience: Successful completion of area exam in Work, Labor Markets and the Economy within the last five years and/or prior experience as a teaching assistant for SOCI 235.
