Science education research suggests that the most effective instruction is based on initial consideration of students鈥� prior conceptions, instructional goals, and careful alignment of pedagogical practice with those goals.听Effectiveness听of these instructional approaches can be determined through the use of conceptual assessment tools that are aligned听to听the instructional goals (Libarkin听et al., In press).
