Abstract:

What ifÌýEEGÌýcould go where your research actually happens — concert halls, classrooms, conversation, performance? This workshop explores how Wearable Sensing's DSI dryÌýEEGÌýsystems are enabling a new generation of naturalistic neuroscience research, bringing high-qualityÌýEEGÌýdata out of the lab and into the real world. We'll examine applications directly relevant to music, cognition and behavior, speech and language neuroscience, and cognitive state monitoring, drawing on publications and live projects from the global DSI research community. We'll showcase what makes dryÌýEEGÌýpractical for ecological paradigms: built-in artifact resistance, rapid setup, and a fully integrated mobile form factor that doesn't compromise signal fidelity. The session will also include hands-on live demonstrations showcasing artifact robustness during mobile recordings, such as music playing, language / behavioral tasks, real-time cognitive state classification or real-time BCI spellers. Whether you're designing your next paradigm or rethinking what's possible outside the lab, this workshop offers insights into both the technical feasibility and demonstrated results of DSI systems.
