A unique network of university-based hubs

The TRANSFORM Partnership features a unique network of university-based hubs focused on participatory visual and arts-based methodologies, community engagement, and social change.

There are thirteen labs in Canada including:

• Queer & Joyful Worldmaking Lab at Concordia University
• Documentary, Arts-based Methods & Social Justice cluster
• Community Mobile Media Lab at NSCAD University
• Centre for Justice, Equity & Sustainable Action at the University of Fraser Valley
• Institute for Art, Community and Transdisciplinary Studies at NSCAD University
• Research Chair in Community based Participatory Research at York University

In the United States there is the Dolores Huerta Research Center for the Americas at the University of California Santa Cruz

In Mexico there is the Centro de Investigaciones sobre America del Norte at the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico

In Nigeria there is the Aaye Odo Lab with the University of Waterloo

In South Africa there are two centres:

• Centre for Social Change at the University of Johannesburg
• Centre for Visual Methodologies for Social Change at the the University of KwaZulu-Natal

And in Australia there is the Centre for Transformative Media Technologies at the Swinburne University of Technology
