Our Services
The Preston Robb 鈥� Mierins Family Neurological Day Centre provides specialized care for individuals with neurological conditions. Our goal is to prevent unnecessary hospitalizations, reduce hospital stays, and ensure timely access to treatment鈥攚hile avoiding emergency room visits whenever possible. The Centre has nine treatment chairs, four stretchers and a private treatment room.
We offer:
Intravenous therapies:
- Immunoglobulins (IVIG)
- IV steroids
- Chemotherapy
Diagnostic & Procedural Support
- Monitoring before and after diagnostic tests
- Care before and after surgeries under local anesthesia such as lumbar punctures, nerve and muscle biopsies, and carpal tunnel surgeries. Physiotherapy is often integrated into the care plan when appropriate.
Urgent & Same-Day Care
- We accept same-day referrals and are equipped to manage urgent neurological issues, including MS relapses and severe migraines.
Conditions We Treat
We primarily care for patients with:
- Myositis
- Neuropathies
- CIDP (Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy)
- Multiple sclerosis (MS)
- Myasthenia gravis
- Migraines
Our Team
The Day centre is managed by a team of specialized nurses. They work closely with interdisciplinary teams within the hospital, across the MUHC, and with other network partners to provide tailored care, whether it鈥檚 a single visit or ongoing treatment over months or years.
The team also provides coverage to various clinics, enhancing the quality of care we offer and are highly appreciated by our patients for their expertise.
