Beverly Ann Spanier Prize in Education

Established in 2026 thanks to a bequest from Beverly Ann Spanier, BA 1967, Dip Ed 1969, in memory of her dear friend Lloyd Malcolm Brereton, Dip Ed 1969, MEd 1978, Cert EdTech 1987.

EligibilityAwarded annually by the Faculty of Education Scholarship Committee on the basis of academic excellence to a student who aspires to teach English, Science, or History at the high school level. Candidates may apply for the prize by submitting a letter speaking to their aspirations to teach in one of these subjects, and how their studies and other experiences, including practica, have helped shape those aspirations.

Jack Schoel Scholarships

EligibilityAwarded annually for academic excellence to either incoming or continuing students studying Jewish Education. Awarded by the Faculty of Education’s Student Affairs on the recommendation of the Coordinator of the Jewish Education Programs. Any amount not awarded to undergraduate students may be awarded to graduate students who meet the terms of the award.

The Stansfield Award for School-Based Classroom Research

Established in 2000 by a bequest by Ellen Edith Grubb Stansfield, B.A. 1929, M.A. 1931, in recognition of her experience, leadership and interest in education in general, schools and classrooms in particular.

Established in 2009 by the Canadian Foundation for Economic Education (CFEE) to honour and recognize the contributions of Tim Casgrain, B.A. 1969, to improve literacy and economic and fiscal capability in Canada.
