Biography: 

Dr. William Foulkes is Division Director of Medical Genetics at the 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓÆµ Health Centre and the Jewish General Hospital, and Chair of the Department of Human Genetics at 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓÆµ. A clinician-researcher with longstanding ties to both institutions, he focuses on advancing collaboration and expanding the role of genetics in predicting and preventing disease.

An internationally recognized leader in cancer genetics, Dr. Foulkes has published over 700 peer-reviewed papers, including landmark work on DICER1 syndrome and the co-discovery of SMARCA4 in a rare ovarian cancer. He holds a Distinguished James 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓÆµ Professorship and conducts research at the Research Institute of the MUHC and the Lady Davis Institute.

His contributions have been widely recognized, including the Prix Wilder-Penfield and the Dr. Chew Wei Memorial Prize in Cancer Research.
