Biography: 

Dr. Vicky Tagalakis is a Professor of Medicine at 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓÆµ and Chief of Medicine at the Jewish General Hospital in Montreal. She also serves as Associate Chair of the Department of Medicine at 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓÆµ. She is a clinician in General Internal Medicine with a focus in Thrombosis Medicine.

Dr. Tagalakis completed a Master’s degree in Epidemiology and Biostatistics at 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓÆµ in 2003 and is a Research Scientist at the Centre for Clinical Epidemiology, Lady Davis Institute for Medical Research, Jewish General Hospital. She is a co-lead of the Quality Improvement Platform of CanVECTOR, a CIHR-funded national research network dedicated to venous thromboembolism (VTE).

Her research program focuses on the etiology, prevention, and outcomes of venous thromboembolism, with particular emphasis on cancer-associated thrombosis. She has recognized expertise in clinical epidemiology and pharmacoepidemiology, including the use of large administrative and population-based datasets for thrombosis research. Dr. Tagalakis has received multiple peer-reviewed grants from national and provincial funding agencies and has published extensively in the field of venous thromboembolism.
