Dr. Judy Luu, MD, PhD, FRCPC, is a cardiologist and clinician–scientist at the 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Health Centre and a faculty member at 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ. She specializes in women’s heart health and serves as Director of the Women’s Cardiovascular Program and Director of Cardiac Magnetic Resonance (CMR) Research. She completed advanced fellowship training in women’s heart health at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, where she refined her clinical expertise in diagnosing and managing cardiovascular conditions that disproportionately affect women, including diverse and often under-recognized presentations.

Dr. Luu is an FRQS Clinician–Scientist and a CIHR-funded investigator. Her research program focuses on identifying early, sex-specific mechanisms of cardiovascular disease by integrating advanced cardiac MRI, inflammation biology, and psychosocial health. Her work examines how stress, microvascular dysfunction, and female-specific risk factors contribute to cardiovascular and cognitive disease in women. She collaborates nationally, including with investigators from the Canadian Alliance for Healthy Hearts and Minds, to better understand the heart–brain connection and early disease pathways.

She is the Founder of the P.O.W.E.R. Women’s Health Program (Prevention, Outreach, Wellness, Education, and Research) - , a multidisciplinary initiative dedicated to equitable cardiovascular prevention and innovation in women’s health. Clinically, her interests include prevention cardiology, sex differences in cardiovascular disease, and advanced cardiac MRI. Dr. Luu is also an award-winning educator and mentor, committed to training the next generation of leaders in cardiovascular medicine.
