Students eligibility and requirements
- Undergraduate or graduate student enrolled in FAES
- Interest in Indigenous Peoples鈥� food systems, health, and well-being
- Commitment to working respectfully and ethically with Indigenous communities
Other aspects that will be considered include academic background, research experience, and experience working with Indigenous communities.

Faculty supervisors听
Faculty members interested in participating in the Pathfinder program must:
- Being affiliated with CINE
- Be available to supervise a student for the duration of the project
- Have or be interested in developing a research opportunity with a community that focuses on nutritional health,听environmental health, or biodiversity听

- Purpose of the project
- Relevance of the research to the community and to CINE
- Goals to be achieved
- Proposed activities or methods

Effective community-researcher partnerships often take the form of long-term, well-funded, and agreement-formalized relationships that are many years in the making. The Pathfinders program is focused on smaller-scale engagements and good beginnings. Successful pathfinders projects represent the first steps of learning, for communities and students, about knowledge priorities, effective partnerships, and future work required for more deeply engaged and sustained relationships.
