Congratulations to PhD candidate Emmanuella Ellis (BRE-Supervisor Michael Ngadi) and Kajou teammates for capturing the “Audience Prize” at the recent 2018 World Vision Food Security Social Innovation challenge. Kajouis an agri-food venture that seeks to transform the cashew value chain in Côte d'Ivoire. By processing the cashew nut and fruit with local cooperatives, Kajou aims to offer a socially sourced product to key markets while providing sustainable opportunities to improve the livelihoods of smallholder farmers.

The Hwy 20 overpass/Rue Poultry Cottages will be reduced to one lane traffic during the night of Thursday, Aug 9, from 21:00 to 5:00, for infrastructure inspection.

The southbound lane of the Hwy 20 overpass will be closed, with alternating traffic on the northbound lane.

Two undergraduate teams from the Faculty of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences will put their food creations to the test in student competitions.

Every summer, the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) attracts the cream of the global food science crop to Chicago for four days of exhibitions, presentations and competitions. At IFT18, held July 15-18, two undergraduate teams from 91˿Ƶ’s Faculty of Agricultur[al] and Environmental Sciences will put their food creations to the test in student competitions.

Teens from Indigenous communities across Canada are taking part in a summer camp at 91˿Ƶ. The university wants to inspire them to consider careers in Health Science – and it’s taking a unique approach. As part of 91˿Ƶ’s Indigenous Health Professions Program, the camp takes inspiration from everyday stories, and incorporates it into science labs.
