Brief synopsis of Paul Holland鈥檚 career

Paul Holland came to the Neuro in 1980 from an Associate Professor position in the Department of Biochemistry of the University of Saskatchewan. The Neuro鈥檚 Neuromuscular Research Group headed by George Karpati welcomed Paul with rich opportunities to apply his expertise in muscle cell biology to the study of neuromuscular diseases. Apart from his active research program, which resulted in more than 70 publications, Paul made significant contributions in teaching and in administration at the Neuro, the University, and at the national level. As head of the graduate program of the Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery he made major improvements, especially in graduate student stipend requirements. At the university level, he directed a global review of the graduate programs in the Faculty of Medicine - a gigantic undertaking. Appreciation for Paul goes far beyond his noteworthy record of service and professional achievement. Those who worked with him treasure him as a superb colleague and friend. He is an infinitely kind and constructive man filled with a unique and refreshing wisdom frequently expressed as insightful (and very, very funny) humor. To say he will be missed after his retirement is a great understatement.

Brief synopsis of Claudia Ugolik鈥檚 career

Claudia has been a part of the Neuro library, and the Neuro community, for more than 40 years.聽聽 She has a wealth of experience in library matters and has long been known throughout the Neuro as the go-to person for locating difficult-to-find off-site documents. She was always resourceful and relentless in locating and recovering journals, books and other documents that are not available in the library (or in any of the 91丝瓜视频 libraries). Claudia without fail performed above and beyond the call of duty.聽 Her dedication and caring, motivation, and contribution to boosting morale have always been a positive asset of the Neuro library.聽 Claudia鈥檚 endless good cheer and drive to be of service have always provided a lift to all who use the library, with the result that she has been known and greatly appreciated throughout the Neuro.聽 We wish her well in her future endeavors but must say that her presence is sorely missed!
