Getting Your Grant: Strategies for Success

91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Researchers, both new and established, who are planning to submit an NSERC Discovery Grant application this fall are strongly encouraged to attend an NSERC Discovery Grant workshop organized by the Office of Sponsored Research. The session will provide "behind the scenes" information about the peer review committee process and activities. The goal of this workshop is to provide helpful tips and "tricks of the trade" to researchers to enhance the quality of their applications. The workshop will include a panel of 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ faculty members who have served on various evaluation groups of the NSERC Discovery Grant Program. Particular emphasis will be placed on the restructured peer review system and the new evaluation process. The panelists will focus on providing successful strategies for planning and writing a grant application.

An agenda will be posted on the OSR website by the end of the week. Topics covered will include recent competition results, the peer review structure, the new evaluation process, overlap between CIHR and NSERC funded research, Research Tools & Instruments and the Discovery Accelerator Supplement.

Refreshments will be served.

Please RSVP by email to info.rgo [at] mcgill.ca by Wednesday, June 9th.

The workshop may be cancelled if attendance is not sufficient.

For further information about this workshop please phone 398-3996.
