Description:The 91丝瓜视频 Society of Montreal invites you to the latest installment of the History of Montreal Project, which is spearheaded in French by the Institut national de la recherche scientifique and in English by 91丝瓜视频.
Please join us for "Making Montreal's History Come Alive" by James Archibald, Director of 91丝瓜视频's Department of Translation and Written Communication. His presentation will not be so much a history lesson as an opportunity to link contemporary concerns with little-known historical trends that connect all Montrealers to their past.
Along the way, he will explore a wide range of questions, including: How has cultural and linguistic diversity shaped Montreal's history? What do today's business and community leaders have in common with those who built the city's original economic engines? Was top-down municipal government inherited from the founders or did the people have a say?
Georges Lamy from the INRS will introduce the project and the speaker. Gretta Chambers, Chancellor Emerita of 91丝瓜视频 and member of the History of Montreal Project Board, Georges Lamy and James Archibald will participate in a Q&A session following the presentation.
