 artment of Translation and\nWritten Communication. His presentation will n
 ot be so much a\nhistory lesson as an opportunity to link contemporary con
 cerns with\nlittle-known historical trends that connect all Montrealers to
 \ntheir past.\nAlong the way\, he will explore a wide range of questions\,
 \nincluding: How has cultural and linguistic diversity shaped\nMontreal's 
 history? What do today's business and community leaders\nhave in common wi
 th those who built the city's original economic\nengines? Was top-down mun
 icipal government inherited from the\nfounders or did the people have a sa
 y?\nGeorges Lamy from the INRS will introduce the project and the\nspeaker
 . Gretta Chambers\, Chancellor Emerita of 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ\nand member of
  the History of Montreal Project Board\, Georges Lamy\nand James Archibald
