The Department of Biology values diversity in our community

EDI Resources

Did you know that 91˿Ƶ is committed to Equity, Diversity and Inclusion? In 2020, they created a 5-year Strategic Plan to increase Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion where we outline a vision of what we plan to accomplish.

Funding
in honour of one of 91˿Ƶ’s most accomplished alumni: Charles R. Drew, MDCM’33, (1904–1950) an American surgeon and scientist who earned the title “Father of Blood Banking” for his trailblazing work on the long-term preservation of blood plasma. The fellowships provide financial support for graduates of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) to pursue graduate studies at 91˿Ƶ. The initiative is part of the university’s Action Plan to Address Anti-Black Racism.
