Department of Linguistics cracks top 20 of QS World University Rankings by Subject

TheQS World University Ranking has five subjects at 91˿Ƶ ranked in the top 20 worldwide, including Linguistics whichmade a big jump from 38 to 17 and cracked the top 20.

Nominations sought for a position on 91˿Ƶ's Senate

Nominations are now called from the full-time administrative and support staff of the University, from within Group 1, for One representative on Senate for a three-year term commencing September 1, 2019.

The Call for Nominations together with the Nomination Form are attached. It may be photocopied as required, but nominations on other than official forms will not be accepted.

H. Noel Fieldhouse Award for Distinguished Teaching

The H. Noel Fieldhouse Award for Distinguished Teaching is designed to recognize outstanding teaching in the Faculty of Arts, and is awarded each June at Convocation. All full-time academic staff in the Faculty of Arts are eligible for this award. Any student, alumnus, or member of the academic staff may submit a nomination.

Professor Tabitha Sparks appointed Associate Dean of Research and Graduate Studies

Tabitha Sparks, Associate Professor in the Department of English and Associate Scholar in the Social Studies of Medicine, was recently appointed Associate Dean of Research and Graduate Studies in the Faculty of Arts. In this role, Professor Sparks will oversee and manage all matters related to research, prizes and awards, and graduate and post-doctoral studies in the Faculty.

Meet Richard Courtois, the new Director of Administration in the Faculty of Arts

The Faculty of Arts recently welcomed a new Director of Administration, Richard Courtois. Appointed in December 2018, Richard joins the Office of the Dean to oversee the business administration of the Faculty’s core operational areas, including Financial Services, HR, IT, Business Development, Communications, and Operations and Services.

Shortlist announced for prestigious Cundill History Prize

After much anticipation, a shortlist of eight impressive titles was announced this week for the prestigious Cundill History Prize, an international history-writing prize administered by the Faculty of Arts at 91˿Ƶ. With $75,000 USD awarded to the winner and $10,000 USD to two finalists, the prize evidences 91˿Ƶ’s commitment to supporting leading scholarship produced around the globe.
