ARIA Information Session

Are you an Arts undergraduate student looking for a research opportunity this summer? Learn about the Arts Undergraduate Research Internship Awards (ARIA) including eligibility criteria and application procedures. The purpose of the Arts Research Internship Awards (ARIA) is to support undergraduate students who undertake research during the summer under the direct supervision of a faculty member. The Faculty of Arts will provide Undergraduate Research Internship Awards, each with a value of $2500. These awards are matched by individual faculty members or their departments (in the amount of $2500) to provide a total award of $5000 to the student.


How to Prepare for an International Internship? Information Session

Are you an Arts student considering doing an international internship next summer? Join us to learn how to find an internship abroad, explore available funding resources, and prepare for travel. Discover the requirements for university-related international internships through presentations by AIO,91˿Ƶ Abroad, and Scholarships & Student Aid staff. Along with insights from past interns who will share their firsthand experiences.

Are you looking for internship opportunities beyond the internships available through the Arts Internship Office (AIO)? Do you need guidance on how to start looking for an internship independently? If yes, this workshop is for you! AIO staff will guide you through the process of how to find your own internship, and fellow students who found their internships independently will share their advice and answer your questions.

Faculty Of Arts Internship Event

This event celebrated the Faculty of Arts Internship Awards and the achievements of student interns who completed their summer internships. During this event, returning interns sharetheir internship experience with the 91˿Ƶ community and generous donors, to inform new Faculty of Arts students about internship opportunities such as the Arts Undergraduate Internship Research Awards (ARIA), Arts Internship Mentorship Initiative Program (AMI), internship academic credit, award applications, and upcoming AIO events.

This poster showcase eventhighlights the work of the ARIA recipients, who present the outcomes of their summer research projects to the Faculty of Arts community.

Faculty of Arts Internship Awards Reception

During this event, Dean Lisa Shapiro welcomesthe new recipients of the Arts Internship Awards, and the Arts Research Internship Awards, along with members of Faculty and the generous supporters of the Arts Internship Office. Throughout the evening, students hearfromalumni about their past internship experiences and meet with the donors whose generous support make these awards possible.

This workshop will help you prepare and plan for successful interviews. Boost your confidence with interview preparation tips and explore the similarities and differences between interviewing virtually and in-person. By attending this workshop, you will learn how to:

1. Prepare prior to an interview and know what constitutes post-interview etiquette

2. Develop strategies for communicating your skills and experience in an interview

3. Identify resources for preparing and practicing, to help build your confidence

Are you starting an internship this summer?Objectives:

  • To set S.M.A.R.T goals and achieve them

  • To achieve a purposeful internship that complements your studies

  • To record your achievements and thoughts during your internship, in order to better time them with your academic and career goals.

Interning with Awareness: Exploring Positionality in Multi-Cultural Contexts

Facilitated by Equity at 91˿Ƶ, this workshop offers valuable guidance on how to navigate your role as an intern in both local and international multi-cultural work environments. Whether you are interning abroad or within a diverse local context, this session will help you build the skills to position yourself effectively. If you are an award recipient, the workshop will also offer key insights to support the writing of your one-month reflection and final report. Workshop topics include understanding your positionality and cultivating cultural sensitivity, professional and social behavior in multi-cultural settings, navigating the stages of adaptation and managing culture shock, and interactive reflection exercises to enhance self-awareness.
