Cyrille Mvomo achieved an outstanding double recognition at the IEEE-EMBS Biomedical and Health Informatics (BHI) Conference held October 26-29 in Atlanta, GA, USA. BHI is one of the world’s leading venues in digital health research.

Education Researcher Receive John R. Evans Leaders Fund (JELF) Funding

Thirty-two 91˿��Ƶ research projects have received new funding from the Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) for investments in research infrastructure to support their innovative projects, for a total federal investment of $9.7 million. These grants will be matched by the Quebec government, doubling their value.

Oct 13~15 2022, TIE lab participated in the SCAPPS (Canadian Society for Psychomotor Learning and Sport Psychology) 2022 Conference in Montreal, Quebec. TIE lab students, Olivia, Gabby, and Nour each presented their research and had great discussions with professors and students from different universities and labs. Dr. Shane Sweet is one of the main organizers, as well as Tayah and George (Zhiyang) volunteered at this conference.

Sep 15~18 2022, TIE lab went to the 61st International Spinal Cord Society Annual Scientific Meeting in Vancouver, BC. TIE lab supervisor, Dr. Shane Sweet and lab member, Jacques Comeau led a discussion on peer support for individuals with spinal cord injury at the pre-conference. TIE lab students, Tayah and Nour delivered their poster presentations, as well as George and Olivia gave their oral presentations on their research projects.

September 6th and 7th, 2022, TIE lab graduate students, Olivia Pastore and Nour Saadawi, each completed their thesis proposals with their committee.

Olivia's Ph.D. thesis: Understanding and reducing compassion fatigue using the compassion fatigue resilience model and self-compassion in peer mentors of Canadian spinal cord injury community-based organizations.

Nour's Master thesis: Optimizing staff training to improve adapted physical activity service provision for two community organizations: Co-construction and implementation evaluation
