Biography:

Anie Philip is a full professor in the Department of Surgery, 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ and a Senior Scientist at the Research Institute of the 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Health Center (RI-MUHC). Her research is centered on understanding the dysregulation of cellular signaling mechanisms in fibrotic diseases such as scleroderma and of oncogenic pathways in squamous cell carcinoma. A major focus is on identifying the key pathways involved and developing molecules that target these pathways for therapeutic intervention. Her research is supported by CIHR Project and Network grants, NSERC Discovery and Alliance grants, and Quebec Govt grants. Dr Philp is a founder of the Skin Research Group of Canada (SRGC), the country's leading professional society for skin researchers, and served as its first president, currently serving on its board. She also serves as the Co-Director of the Skin Investigation Network of Canada (SkIN Canada), a CIHR-funded nation-wide forum that unites skin researchers, clinicians, and patients to improve skin health across Canada. Additionally, as chair of the SkIN Canada Training Committee, she leads webinars and workshops aimed at skill-building and knowledge-sharing for trainees and early-career skin researchers.
