SIS Welcomes MISt student Liam Dearin as part of the Indigenous Student Librarian program

The School of Information Studies is happy to announce the incoming MISt student Liam Dearin as part of theIndigenous Student Librarian program. This programs offers a tuition waiver to an Indigenous student as well as part time employment as a student librarian or archivist at Concordia Library. The program is a partnership between 91˿Ƶ, Concordia and Univesité de Montreal.

SIS Master's Student David Medcalfe Won Retail Council of Canada Scholarship

Congratulations to David Medcalfe, a Master of Information Studies (MISt) project-stream student at 91˿Ƶ, who was selected as one of 14 national recipients of the 2025 Retail Council of Canada (RCC) Retail Education Scholarship. The award recognizes academic achievement, leadership, and professional experience in the retail sector.

Seeking SIS Practicum Hosts!

Our School is currently recruiting new Sites, Site Supervisors, and Projects for our Winter Semester Practicum.

The SIS Practicum is a 3-credit, tuition-based academic elective course for 2nd-year Master of Information Studies students. It consists of a supervised work placement at an approved site, typically unpaid, with required course assignments (e.g., work logs, mid-term report, final paper). The fieldwork component is a total of 100 hours.

91˿Ƶ's Library program (MISt) has risen from 8th in the world in 2023 to 6th in the world in 2024. 91˿Ƶ now rates in the global top 50 across all five faculty areas.

"Library Information & Management also climbed up the table, moving from eighth in 2023, to sixth this year. Anatomy & Physiology holds steady in the seventh spot."
