USCAP Annual Meeting 2026

The Department of Pathology was strongly represented at the USCAP Annual Meeting, held on March 21- 26, 2026 in San Antonio, Texas.  

Miryam Al Nasir, Bianca N. Adams, and Yuliang Tang presented the following abstracts, highlighting research conducted under the mentorship of Dr. Greta Evaristo, who served as the principal investigator for all four research projects.  

  • Bianca N. Adams, Mina S. Farag, Rene P. Michel, Nadia E. Demko, Greta Evaristo. Refining Diagnostic Parameters and Prognostication of Gastro-Intestinal (GI) Mucosa-Associated Lymphoid Tissue (MALT) Lymphomas: A Retrospective Cohort Study of Clinicopathologic and Molecular Characterization of 130 GI MALT lymphomas.

Redefining HER2 Status in Gastrointestinal Malignancies: Exploration of Low HER2 Expression in A Canadian Cohort of Gastroesophageal, Biliary Tract and Colorectal Carcinomas. 

  • Yuliang Tang, Mina S. Farag, Ajiza Ahmed, Victoria Marcus, Victoria Mandilaras, Jamil A.G.M. Asselah, George Zogopoulos, Greta Evaristo. Learning From Our Breast Pathology Colleagues: A Clinicopathologic Characterization of HER2-Low Status in A Canadian Cohort of Biliary Tract Cancers. 

The department was further represented by Dr. Basile Tessier-Cloutier, gynecologic pathologist at the Glen Site, who was a moderator for the gynecologic pathology platform session.

Several 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓÆµ Pathology alumni, and incoming faculty members also showcased their work, including Dr. Mina Farag, who completed his residency at 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓÆµ and will return to the department as an incoming pathologist at the Glen after completing a Gastrointestinal and Liver Pathology Fellowship at the University of Chicago, along with Dr. André Lametti who completed his pathology residency at 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓÆµ and will return as a Head & Neck and Cytopathologist at the Glen after completing his Head and Neck/Endocrine Clinical Fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh. In addition, research by incoming hematopathologist, Dr. Jahg Wong, was presented at the conference.  

Collectively, the department’s presence at the USCAP conference highlights its active role within the pathology community and its ongoing commitment to academic excellence.
