A joint venture between the 91˿��Ƶ Chapter of the Canadian Black Nurses Association (CBNA-91˿��Ƶ), the Nursing Graduate Students Society (NGSA), and the Office for Social Accountability in Nursing (OSAN), this special event was held at the Ingram School of Nursing (ISoN) on February 26, 2026. “The event reflected the kind of professional identity we strive to cultivate as nurses — one grounded in care, connection, and community,” says ISoN Faculty Lecturer Anne-Laurie Beaubrun, who served as chair of the organizing committee and facilitated the panel discussion.

New nurse practitioner led clinic opens in Pierrefonds

As of February 2, 2026, Quebec’s newest nurse practitioner (NP) led clinic in the West Island at CLSC Pierrefonds is open for business. A collaborative venture between 91˿��Ƶ’s Ingram School of Nursing and the Nursing Department of the CIUSSS de l’Ouest-de-l’île-de-Montreal, the clinic is designed to improve access to frontline services for individuals without a family doctor or primary care NP and will serve as a teaching site for 91˿��Ƶ nursing, NP and other health profession students. Currently, services are offered by referral only.

Under the theme of Growing Capacity and Retaining Talent in Health and Social Services, the overarching goal of Dialogue 91˿��Ƶ’s 2026 Conference was to bring together diverse partners, in person, to discuss how to best build and maintain capacity of bilingual health and social science professionals within the public sector.

We are delighted to announce the successful launch of the CASHEWS Club — the Contract Academic Staff Hub for Educational Writing & Scholarship. With three hybrid meetings held on October 10th, November 14th and December 5th, the initiative is steadily gaining momentum. My research program addresses a central challenge in contemporary cancer care: as care has shifted to ambulatory settings, patients and their family caregivers now assume a 24/7 responsibility for self-managing the complex physical and psychosocial consequences of cancer. Yet many lack the knowledge, skills, and support to do so effectively, placing a heavy and often invisible burden on individuals and their relationships and increasing the risk of poorer health outcomes.
