Reminder to opt in to the new emergency notification system this week

Dear members of the 91˿Ƶ community,

Only in exceptional situations does 91˿Ƶ send out emergency notifications. When we do, it’s to inform you about a major disruption like extensive class cancellations, unplanned building closures or – though extremely rare – some type of threat to health or safety.

Following my message to you on Feb. 10, thousands of you signed up to 91˿Ƶ’s emergency notification system. Thank you! Now, you will be able to receive alerts on your phones or personal computers.

If you have not signed up yet, please do so as soon as possible because we are decommissioning the old system at the end of this week.

To receive emergency notifications from the new system:

  • Opt in to receive emergency text messages (SMS)
  • Ensure that you can receive notifications on your computer
  • Download and configure the BlackBerry AtHoc mobile app

Instructions on each are available on this emergency notification webpage.

If you opted in to our old system before we launched the new one on Feb. 10:

Thank you for doing your part to stay safe on campus!
