His graduate study\, in the laboratory o f Dr. Stuart Firestein\, was focused on the function and development of ol factory sensory neurons. He did his postdoctoral training in the laborator y of Dr. David Julius at the University of California\, San Francisco\, wh ere he combined physiological\, anatomical\, and behavioral approaches to study the pharmacology of somatosensory neurons. He joined the NIH intramu ral pain program (NCCIH) in 2013 where his laboratory now employs multidis ciplinary approaches to study how sensory stimuli (such temperature\, touc h\, and environmental irritants) are detected and encoded by the somatosen sory system.\n\n\nThe Killam Seminar Series at The Neuro\n\nSupported by t he generosity of the Killam Trusts\, The Neuro’s Killam Seminar series hos ts outstanding guest speakers whose research is of interest to the scienti fic community at The Neuro and 91˿Ƶ.\n\n\nHow to participate via Zoom:\n\n1.
