 ct aims to analyze how the interaction of playing parameters and physical 
 parameters affects the sound of single-reed woodwind instruments\, such as
  the saxophone and clarinet. Despite the fundamental role musicians play i
 n making music\, there is a dearth of research on how a musician's physica
 l actions translate to the acoustics of their instruments. Measuring these
  actions\, called playing parameters\, is particularly difficult in woodwi
 nd instruments due to the complexity of capturing data within a player’s m
 outh. Playing parameters are distinct from the physical parameters associa
 ted with the instrument's shape and material properties of the reed. This 
 investigation is carried out using physics-based sound synthesis models wh
 ich closely replicate the behavior and sound of actual instruments.\n\nCha
 mp Darabundit is a PhD candidate in Music Technology and a Vanier Scholar.
  His work is focused on physics-based simulation of single-reed woodwind i
 nstruments. Specifically\, he explores the relationship between physical p
 arameters and the sound produced by the instrument. His work is co-supervi
 sed by Gary Scavone from 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ and Vasileios Chatziioannou fro
 m the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna.\n\nThe Doctoral Coll
 oquium is open to all.\n
