Students build a clear and practical methodology that strengthens fu ndamentals\, sharpens musical thinking\, and supports consistent progress across repertoire\, auditions\, and professional demands.\n\nEvery partici pant works extensively with both Todd Cope (91˿Ƶ) and Yehuda Gilad (USC Thornton) through daily masterclasses that include guided indiv idual instruction. Students receive focused personal feedback while also l earning from the shared experience of the group. As one of the founding members of the Colburn School Conservatory of Music\, Mr. Gilad serves as Music Dire ctor of the Colburn Orchestra and Professor of Clarinet for the Colburn Co nservatory\, the Colburn Community School of Performing Arts\, and the Col burn Music Academy. In addition\, he is Professor of Clarinet at the Unive rsity of Southern California’s Thornton School of Music\, and across these two prestigious institutions\, he has developed one of the most sought-af ter clarinet studios in the world. His students have achieved top honors i n every premier international clarinet competition\, and graduates of his studio hold positions in over 150 major orchestras worldwide\, including t he Cincinnati and Minnesota Orchestras\; the New York\, Los Angeles\, Stoc kholm\, Sweden\, Montréal\, Hong Kong\, China\, and Seoul Philharmonics\; San Francisco Opera\; the Concertgebauw\; and the Orquesta Nacional de Esp aña\, to name a few. In 2012\, he served as president of the jury for the Carl Nielsen 5th International Clarinet Competition in Odense\, Denmark. M r. Gilad is a recipient of numerous honors and awards\, including the Dist inguished Teacher Award from the White House Commission on Presidential Sc holars\, the Ramo Award\, and USC’s highest honor for excellence in teachi ng. He was also named one of Musical America’s 2015 Professional Influence rs of the Year. Mr. Gilad is regularly invited to present master classes a nd performances at music conservatories and major festivals around the glo be.\n\n \n\nTodd Cope has been the Principal Clarinet of the Orchestre sym phonique de Montréal since 2013. Prior to his appointment\, he served as S econd and E-flat clarinet with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra from 2011 to 2013 and was a member of the New World Symphony in Miami Beach from 200 7 to 2010.\n\nTodd has also performed with the Sun Valley and Gran Teton F estival Orchestra\, Florida Grand Opera\, Scottish Chamber Orchestra\, Nat ional Repertory Orchestra\, and Aspen Music Festival Orchestra\, among oth ers. As a member of the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal\, he has toured extensively through Europe\, Asia\, South America\, and the United States. \n\nHe has been featured as a concerto soloist with the OSM and can be hea rd on the “Soloists of the OSM” CD series released by Analekta Records fea turing chamber works by Beethoven\, Strauss\, and Schubert. In addition to performing\, Todd is an Assistant Professor at the Schulich School of Mus ic at 91˿Ƶ. He has given masterclasses in North America and E urope\, and was a faculty member at the Domaine Forget International Summe r Academy.\n\nTodd completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music as a student of Richie Hawley an d earned a Professional Studies Certificate from the Colburn Conservatory of Music as a student of Yehuda Gilad.
