This initiative provides $20,000 per PI to support bold, early-stage collaborative projects designed to generate preliminary data and position teams for larger external grants. The CRBS–MI4 stream supports projects in infectious diseases (excluding antimicrobial resistance) that align with CRBS’s mission to advance structural biology and biophysics in understanding disease mechanisms and developing innovative therapeutic approaches.

Eligible teams must include one CRBS member and one MI4 member as co-PIs. Up to one CRBS–MI4 award will be funded in 2026. Projects will launch in April 2026, and funds must be fully spent by March 31, 2027.

Application deadline: March 24, 2026.

Application packages must be submitted by email to csb.med [at] mcgill.caÌý
