DESCRIPTION:Canada’s primary care system is in crisis and the shortage of d
 octors is only one visible symptom. This talk draws on insights from socia
 l science to explore how policy choices\, institutional cultures\, and str
 uctural inequities have shaped the system we have today. It makes the case
  for increasing investments toward prevention and community-based care — i
 ncluding social prescribing\, community health workers\, and integrated so
 cial supports — as part of a broader vision for equitable\, effective prim
 ary care. Drawing on examples from Canada and globally\, it offers a fresh
 \, interdisciplinary perspective on how we got here and what it will take 
 to move forward.\n\nThe presentation will be in English but comments and q
