The Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences聽(AES)聽is proud to recognize聽Elaine Quick and聽Farial聽Karimian,聽recipients of this year鈥檚聽AES聽聽Award聽of Excellence for Administrative and Support Staff.聽聽

Elaine Quick,聽Morgan Arboretum聽聽

Elaine Quick, Office Manager of the Morgan Arboretum and one of the award recipients, joined the team in June 2022 after several years working in accounting roles, first on the downtown campus and more recently at the Macdonald campus, where she distinguished herself through her聽expertise.

Since joining the Arboretum, Elaine has made a tangible impact on its long-term sustainability. Her rigorous budgeting work has secured funding for student internships and building infrastructure, while her operational leadership has been instrumental in reviving the Arboretum's recreational, educational, and outreach activities following the COVID-19 pandemic.聽She notably led the return of maple syrup production at Macdonald in 2025 and its expansion in 2026, efforts that have strengthened the organization's revenue base and positioned it for a strong future.

Farial聽Karimian,聽Macdonald Market

Farial聽has been a聽fixture聽of the聽Macdonald聽Market for聽nearly 15聽years.聽Over that time, she has played聽a central role聽in聽developing聽the聽Friday Baskets program, ensuring students have access to local, healthy, and affordable food. These baskets, now well established, benefit not only the Macdonald campus community but also students and staff from 91丝瓜视频 (downtown), John Abbott College, Concordia University, and Macdonald High School.聽

Her聽commitment聽to community continues to leave聽a lasting mark on the faculty landscape聽and聽has contributed significantly to raising the profile of the market and, more broadly, the campus.

Together, Elaine and聽Farial聽embody聽the spirit of聽the聽Macdonald campus community and we thank them for their continued contributions聽towards sustaining the welcoming and supportive community that shapes us.聽
