Expert: Rebuilding trust in health science

A new report calls for action to rebuild Canadians’ trust in health science, warning declining confidence is undermining public health and could weaken the country’s ability to respond to future crises.

The Bioethics Council for Canada’s cites data showing that only 68 per cent of Canadians trusted scientists for reliable information in 2025, down from 77 per cent five years ago, as misinformation spreads online and trust shifts toward social circles and influencers.
