In June 2025,聽Dr.聽Simon聽Thebault joined The聽Montreal聽Neurological聽Hospital Institute (The Neuro)聽and the Ludmer聽Centre聽as聽part of the Single-Cell Genomics Brain Initiative.聽He is an attending physician and a researcher, and聽his work聽focuses on multiple sclerosis (MS).聽
Dr.聽Thebault sat down with聽us to talk聽about his research interest,聽some recent findings,聽his collaborators, and how it聽all comes together聽in聽his patient care.聽He聽had聽high聽praise聽for聽the legacy of The Neuro and 91丝瓜视频 as well as his聽local聽collaborators:聽
鈥淔irst, I think nowhere else has a聽better聽vision and history of translational research聽than The Neuro. Second, it comes聽to resources like CBIG biobanks, the Ludmer Centre,聽a聽world-renowned聽imaging group, the institutional infrastructure at 91丝瓜视频.聽And thirdly,聽and聽to be honest, the most important reason,聽is the quality of the people.聽I've got some great collaborators. I felt that I was聽a piece of a puzzle and I could see exactly where I'd fit into this puzzle.鈥�
