 rgovernmental Organizations (Routledge\, 2018)\, a book by Jean-Michel Mar
 coux (Postdoctoral Fellow\, 91˿����Ƶ\, Faculty of Law).\n\nAbout 
 the book\n\nIn a context of neoliberal globalization\, have the processes 
 of elaboration and implementation of foreign investors’ responsibilities b
 y intergovernmental organizations reached the realm of legality? Using an 
 analytical framework and a methodology that combine international law with
  international relations\, this book provides a twofold answer to this que
 stion.\n\nFirst\, it demonstrates that the normative integration of foreig
 n investors’ responsibilities in international investment law is fragmente
 d and consistent with the interests of the most powerful actors. Second\, 
 while using the interactional theory of international law to assess the no
 rmative character of several international instruments elaborated and impl
 emented by intergovernmental organizations\, it highlights the sense of ob
 ligation that each instrument generates.\n\nThe analysis demonstrates that
  such a codification process is marked by relations of power and has resul
 ted in several social norms\, with relatively few legal norms.\n\nAbout th
 e speaker\n\nJean-Michel Marcoux holds a PhD in Law (University of Victori
 a)\, an MA in International Studies (Institut québécois des hautes étud
 es internationales) and a BA in Public Affairs and International Relations
  (Université Laval). Interested in international economic law and interna
 tional relations theory\, he has published a dozen articles and chapters i
 n peer-reviewed journals and collections of essays. He currently holds a p
 osition as a Postdoctoral Fellow at 91˿����Ƶ\, Faculty of Law.\n
