DESCRIPTION:On January 29\, 2017\, the massacre at the Grande mosquée de Qu
 ébec that killed 6 men -- Azzeddine Soufiane\, Mamadou Tanou Barry\, Khale
 d Belkacemi\, Aboubaker Thabti\, Ibrahima Barry and Abdelkrim Hassane -- a
 nd wounded 19 others put a spotlight on the pervasiveness of Islamophobia 
 and anti-Muslim racism in Québec and Canada. It was the largest political 
 mass shooting in Canada in 25 years\, and the first time Muslims were kill
 ed inside a mosque in North America. Since then\, however\, the public dis
 course and media coverage on the topic has veered from empty platitudes to
  an outright denial of the severity of the issue.\n	How can we come togethe
 r and confront the reality of Islamophobia and anti-Muslim racism? Are the
 re ways to combat this together as we move forward? How might we collectiv
 ely remember and honour the lives of those killed at the Grande mosquée de
  Québec? Join us for a panel with Dolores Chew (South Asian Women's Commun
