In many jurisdictions\, intestate succes sion regimes are still struggling to find ways to accommodate the relation ships that arise out of blended families\, a reality that is increasingly present. This presentation examines some of the different ways blended fam ilies are affected by intestate succession regimes in the Canadian common law and Quebec civil law. Comparisons will be drawn with foreign jurisdict ions such as England\, Scotland\, and France to examine how reforms to int estate succession regimes in these countries have affected blended familie s.\n\nBiographie\n\n(En anglais seulement) Laura Cárdenas is in her final year in the BCL/LLB program at 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ. She is the Editor-in-Chief of the M cGill Law Journal\, vol. 62 and has worked as a research assistant for man y professors in the areas of property law and liberalités.
