 ity).\n\nRésumé\n\n(En anglais seulement.) The wrong modern North-American
  anti-discrimination legislation seeks to curtail is not straightforwardly
  unique\; rather\, it is multi-fold. So much so\, that its many objectives
 —while they no doubt often collide—frequently also contradict each other\,
  leaving scholars and judges alike in under-theorized\, conflicted territo
 ries. The present conference is an attempt to contribute to the growing bo
 dy of work theorizing one of the most complex contemporary legal questions
 : why is discrimination wrong\, exactly?\n\nThis conference will proceed i
 n two parts. The first will consist of a brief presentation of the broad l
 andscape shaped by Prof. Reva Siegel\, Prof. Sophia Moreau\, and others\, 
 which is composed of four distinct philosophies of anti-discrimination: an
 ti-classification\, anti-balkanization\, anti-stereotyping\, and anti-subo
 rdination. Their presence and polymorph appearance in both American and Ca
 nadian constitutional law will be discussed. The focus will then be placed
  on anti-stereotyping\, for it is the most malleable of the four philosoph
 ies. Just as it gains constant ground in North-America\, its exact content
  somewhat eludes us. What\, then\, is the exact wrong that anti-stereotypi
 ng is determined to curtail?\n\nI hope to demonstrate that\, much like the
  broader landscape of anti-discrimination law in which it inserts itself\,
  anti-stereotyping is aimed at plural wrongs—rather than at any one singul
 ar wrong. The result is a tentative typology\, drawn from American and Can
 adian scholarly work\, in which anti-stereotyping is attentive to four dif
 ferent wrongs\; a model I will discuss in detail.\n\nBiographie\n\nMe Léa 
 Brière-Godbout est membre du Barreau du Québec depuis 2014. Après avoir co
 mplété son baccalauréat en droit (LL.B.) à l’Université du Québec à Montré
 al\, Me Brière-Godbout a effectué un stage d’auxiliaire juridique à la Cou
 r d’appel du Québec. Elle a récemment obtenu sa maîtrise en droit (LL.M.) 
 de l’Université Yale où elle a mené sa recherche sous la supervision de la
  professeure Cary Franklin. Elle s’est spécialisée en droit criminel et an
 ti-discrimination. Elle entamera des études de doctorat (S.J.D.) à l’Unive
 rsité de Toronto à l’automne\, avant d’agir à titre d’auxiliaire juridique
  à la Cour suprême du Canada en 2018.\n\nLa conférence sera présentée en f
