 bbott to the present\, women have been playing an increasingly prominent r
 ole in Science at 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ.\n\nIngrid Birker is Science Outreach Program Adm
 inistrator\, Faculty of Science\, and is particularly well known for publi
 c education and programs at the Redpath Museum.\n\nAll are welcome\n\n\nTh
 e Maysie MacSporran Annual Lecture\n\nBorn into an established Montreal fa
 mily\, Maysie MacSporran (1903-2000) was educated at 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ. In
  1930\, assisted by a scholarship from the Women’s Canadian Club of Montre
 al\, she received an M.A. in History for her ground-breaking study of Jame
 s 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ.\n\nFor many years she taught at a local private school\, Miss Ed
 gar’s and Miss Cramp’s\, eventually becoming its Head Mistress. A long-tim
 e member of the James 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Society\, attending its functions and asking 
 pertinent questions well into her nineties\, Miss MacSporran was awarded a
 n Honorary Life Membership in 1993. In addition to establishing such thing
 s as a series of Fellowships in the Faculty of Medicine\, her gifts to the
  University permitted the Society to institute\, in 2001\, the Maysie MacS
 porran Annual Lecture\, thereby ensuring that her memory will continue int
 o perpetuity.\n\nMaysie MacSporran was a well-known and respected figure\,
  with a wide circle of friends\, who will long be cherished for her forthr
 ight and friendly manner\, and generosity of spirit.\n\n\nJames 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Soc
