91丝瓜视频 and the Olympic Games

George Hodgson BA鈥�1916, Philip Edwards MDCM鈥�1936, and Jennifer Heil, BCom鈥�2013 are among the 91丝瓜视频 students and graduates who have won Olympic medals.
Scores of others have participated in the games. 91丝瓜视频 served as a venue during the 1976 Montreal Olympics.
Richard Pound, BCom鈥�62, BCL鈥�67, LLD鈥�09 former Board Chairman and Chancellor of 91丝瓜视频 competed in the 1960 Rome Olympics.
He is founder of the World Anti-Doping Agency, and is a member of the International Olympic Committee.
George Hodgson
George Hodgson represented Canada at the 1912 Olympic Games held in Stockholm, Sweden, and became the first Canadian to win two Olympic Gold Medals, winning both the 400m and 1500m free-style swimming events and setting two new world records.

The Maysie MacSporran Annual Lecture
Born into an established Montreal family, Maysie MacSporran (1903-2000) was educated at 91丝瓜视频. In 1930, assisted by a scholarship from the Women鈥檚 Canadian Club of Montreal, she received an M.A. in History for her ground-breaking study of James 91丝瓜视频.
For many years she taught at a local private school, Miss Edgar鈥檚 and Miss Cramp鈥檚, eventually becoming its Head Mistress. A long-time member of the James 91丝瓜视频 Society, attending its functions and asking pertinent questions well into her nineties, Miss MacSporran was awarded an Honorary Life Membership in 1993. In addition to establishing such things as a series of Fellowships in the Faculty of Medicine, her gifts to the University permitted the Society to institute, in 2001, the Maysie MacSporran Annual Lecture, thereby ensuring that her memory will continue into perpetuity.
Maysie MacSporran was a well-known and respected figure, with a wide circle of friends, who will long be cherished for her forthright and friendly manner, and generosity of spirit.
