 rogram\n\n\n\n	Join us on December 9th as the IHDW will be hosting a partic
 ipatory art-making workshop in conjunction with Poetry Matters.\n\n	The wor
 kshop will explore the form of the Manifesto and examine the renewed poten
 tial of the format as an artistic site in the guise of happenings around c
 ontemporary cultures. We will hear expert review of the Manifesto forms of
  the twentieth and twenty-first centuries\, discuss together how to renew 
 the format in the guise of artistic and social production and make manifes
 to art together within the Art Hive Space at 91Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ.\n\nOn display will be
  various art Manifestos through-out the past century with special attentio
 n to their impact on feminist manifestos and vice-versa\, including the Re
 d Stockings Manifesto (1969)\, the Xenofeminist Manifesto (2015) and the C
 anadian Indigenous Girlfesto (2018)\n\n \n\n\n\n\n	More generally\, we will
  explore the potential of the manifesto as a genre through which to empowe
 r and give voice to marginalized communities\, recognize and articulate di
 ssatisfaction\, think and work for change\, and dream toward a better futu
 re.\n		—Miranda Hickman\n\n\nThe workshop will be led by a collective from t
 he IHDW and Poetry Matters\, including Professor Miranda Hickman\, Associa
 te Professor\, Co-director of Poetry Matters Project and acting Director o
 f the Institute for Gender\, Sexuality\, and Feminist Studies\, Nadia Moss
 \, the Art Hive Artist-in-Residence and Graduate Students Lisa Banks and A
 ron Rosenberg.\n\nSnacks and Drinks will be available.\n\nWe do not have a
 ccommodations for child care\, but this is a kid-friendly event so feel fr
 ee to bring the young ones.\n
