Gold Sustainable Event certification

Join us on February 23, 2026 at 6:30 p.m. in the Trottier Building Mezannine (3630 University) for a public exhibit of Shanna Strauss’ artworks, Kanga I, II, III. Part of the broader digital art initiative, Projections, that aims at strengthening the inclusion of underrepresented groups through art, this exhibition is the first event in celebration of Projections: SANKOFA, which centers on African and Caribbean cultural heritage through contemporary artistic impression.

The evening will include a roundtable discussion on the artworks and the meaning of “Sankofa,” followed by a community reception. All are welcome!

Projections: SANKOFAis a partnership between a curatorial team of Black students at 91˿Ƶ and members the Faculty of Engineering andthe Visual Arts Collection.


The event is free and open to the public. .
